I’m gonna be honest, when I first saw this dress I thought who would wear that? It didn’t strike me as trendy, and it definitely wasn’t my style. But I put that behind me and put the dress on, and of course, I was completely wrong about it.
It’s the most comfortable dress you’ll put on your body. It’s made out of a soft poly, nylon blend, making it very breathable. It’s very flattering because of where the waistband hits. It’s a swing type dress, so it’s not heavy whatsoever.
I love that the straps make it easy to wear a normal, everyday bra with it too, unlike a lot of formal dresses where you feel uncomfortable all throughout the night because of your strapless bra or adhesive bra that slips down due to sweat lol
I also love how simple yet cute the pattern is. I love the touch of Aztec print at the bottom.

I know I’ll be comfortable in this dress all night long, and won’t have to worry about a thing!
Of course this dress doesn’t have to be formal, you could easily dress it down with less of a heel, and more casual jewelry.
But I think this Joanna Dress from J&J Petite Boutique would be perfect for a night out on the town with the girls or a fancy date perhaps to an event downtown, a musical production, or just to a nice dinner. It’s only $45 too, which I think is a wonderful price for such a nice, well-made dress.
It’s also available in a vibrant yellow, but black is more my style.
I paired my Joanna dress with a simple thick black choker, that I got from PacSun for $10, but unfortunately mine is sold out. I found a very similar one for $12, that I like a lot better anyways.
My black heels with bows are from Target from years ago, but I’ve linked some super cute affordable heels from Target, plus some from J&J, but be careful, you might want them all like I do.
My clutch is just any ole black clutch, I have no idea where it’s from, and my bracelet is from J&J Petite Boutique. The Silver Bead Bracelet has an adjustable cord, perfect for fitting most wrist sizes. I love having a piece of jewelry that actually fits my wrists.
I’m so glad I gave this Joanna Dress a chance, because it’ll definitely be my go to next time I need to get fancy 😉
