Hello September & hello to you too!
I can’t believe it’s already the 2nd week of September and that fall officially begins next week! Where does time go?
But don’t get it twisted, I’m not mad about the arrival of fall one bit! Fall is my favorite time of the year, just like every other basic girl out there.
Fall means my favorite drinks from Starbucks are back on the menu, my favorite scents in candles are sold yet again, and that I can crack out those warm sweaters once again, and I’d much rather dress cozy than in booty shorts and a tank. Let’s be real.
My list of favorite things for fall is endless, so I thought that instead of boring you to death, I would only share a few.
Pumpkin Apple Cider Body Wash & Bubble Bath!
This stuff smells like heaven, and who isn’t a sucker for adorable packaging? I about died when I walked into Bath & Body Works and saw this guy chilling on the shelves. So naturally I purchased it. Whether you’re a shower girl or a bath taker like I am, you can still douse yourself in this stuff and walk out smelling like a sugary apple dream. I can’t get enough of this stuff. It was a little pricey, coming in at a whopping $18, but a little goes a long way, and you best believe I’m trying to make mine last all season. Lol.
It comes in 4 different scents and they all smell like fall in a bottle. Purchase it here!
Fall Themed Mugs!
If you didn’t know by now, I’m an avid coffee drinker. Like I’m obsessed. I need help… But it’s fine. In conjunction with my coffee-obsession, is my mug obsession; *ahem* … borderline hoarding.
Name a place, I probably have a mug from there. Name a season, and I have 20 for each.
My 2 favorite ones for fall are my Pumpkin shaped one that I got from Wal-Mart last season, and my new “The Leaves are falling, my Coffee is calling” mug that I purchased from Rachel Allene. (Her website: http://rachelallene.com & her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/rachelallene)
I am a beanie kinda girl. I used to be totally against them and thought I looked like a man with a peanut-shaped head in them. Turns out I was wearing them wrong. Lol.
You know those Tumblr and Pinterest girls who can basically just have their beanie levitate above the back of their head, like seriously I don’t even think it’s attached, and they somehow still look cute? Well that doesn’t happen in real life, you will look like you have a peanut-shaped head. Don’t do it, don’t try it. Trust me. It does NOT photograph well. You’ll thank me later.
Instead pull it all the way down, forget that extra fabric hanging loose at the top of your head; those days are gone. Pull it all the way down and style your hair accordingly. You’ll feel a lot less awkward in it, plus the point of a beanie is to keep you warm and your ears will feel a lot warmer IN the beanie. Lol.
Would it be a Fall-themed post without mentioning Starbucks? I think not.
With the arrival of fall, come my 2 favorite drinks from Starbucks. Of course, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, but also the Salted Carmel Mocha. That one is everything you’ve ever wanted in a Starbucks drink.
My tip for you if you love coffee but can’t take the overly sweet PSL, is to add an extra shot! It intensifies the coffee flavor and lessens the sugary pumpkin fake taste, while still giving you all kinds of fall-in-a-cup vibes.
Fall Themed Graphic Tees!
I am the epitome of Basic. And I’m proud.
And last, but not least…
I literally live in booties during fall time. You can’t go wrong with a black pair, you can seriously wear them with just about any outfit. Grab a pair without a heel for a casual daytime look, or throw on a pair with a slight heel like these pictured above (which are from jjpetite.com) to add a little something extra to your sweater look. *Use my code: CLAIRE20 for 20% off site-wide at J&J Petite Boutique!*
If you don’t own a pair, stop what you’re doing and go buy some. They’ll become your favorite things to wear.
These are a few of my favorite (fall ) things.. 😉
