Soft & Sweet Valentine’s Look Ideas + How to Style Pieces You Already Own

Hi there!

I wanted to throw together a quick little post on some V-day date night looks that won’t scare the children, and a few tips on how I style pieces in my wardrobe into new outfits! I do this frequently! I seriously rotate the same skirt like twice a week!

There are a few staple pieces to have on hand that make doing this a whole lot simpler. Like having a good midi skirt that fits you amazingly. (Having it in 5 colors may be a little excessive, but do as you please! I’m talking to me.) Or a fabulous pair of “mom jeans.” (I have 5 pairs of the same levis. I have a problem). But you get the point.

I’m a huge fan of putting pieces together that you may not think would work together, but in the end they do. Some of you will still think they don’t, but here’s my caring face 🙂

Midi Skirt

Let’s start with a skirt!

Mine is from Lulus!

I love to pair midi skirts with chunky sweaters! I love the mix of casual and not so casual! Feminine and dainty, mixed with comfy and warm! Cause hello, winter! And I’m not out here trying to looking like I’m going to my first high school homecoming dance for my valentine’s date. lol

I think a perfect Valentine’s date night look is to pair a soft pink, cream, or even red midi skirt with a classic, chunky sweater, give it a little half tuck, pair it with some pearls and either boots or heels, and you’re set. Still soft & sweet, but totally comfy.

Midi Dress

Another great piece to have in your closet is a good old fashion, floral dress! This one is from Bella Ella Boutique, and you can use the code CLAIRE10!

I love styling dresses in 100 different ways!

Of course, you could just wear the dress! Lol.

But I love to add either a jean jacket + my adidas superstars for a casual look, to really dress it down; add heels + a faux fur coat/shaggy cardigan for a night out look; OR my go-to way to reallyswitch up a look is to throw on a sweater over my dress! You heard me!!!

Which is what I did here! I threw on my sweater from the first look over top my floral dress to create an entirely different look! I think it’s so fun, and keeps things fresh in your closet! 🙂

Here are two other looks that are actually dresses layered as well!

I hope I gave you a little insight into how I style outfits, and hopefully helped you come up with something cute for V-day, so you don’t have to run out and snag something new for your date!! Lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
