Suit of My Dreams | Janela Bay + a GIVEAWAY

Cool for the Summer

Hi there!

I am beyond excited for today’s post!

So let’s talk swimwear.. is it not the most annoying thing? I have been on the HUNT for a swimsuit that actually fits me in all the right places and also cover my body, while still being cute and fun! Like I feel like I’ve been searching my whole life haha

I came across Janela Bay, a modest, trendy swimwear line, about a year ago, and I knew that they’d be everything I needed in a swimsuit. They are all about classy, modest swimwear! Sign me up!!

Janela Bay actually started one day when the owner was fed up with not finding exactly what she was wanting in store and decided just to make her own. How cool is that?

She now has two locations in Utah and a large following on Instagram, which is incredible!

I’ve jokingly said that one day I’d probably have to do that, but thanks to Janela Bay, I can put a hold on learning how to sew for a few more years! Lol.

Purchase my suit HERE!

I know what you’re thinking… “Oh, a one piece?” And I have to say to that, “Heck yeah, girlfriend, a one piece!” While you’re over there worrying about what may pop out or who may see you like that, I’ll be living my life and doing water sports with confidence. hahaha. I’m just kidding… but kind of not. Untitled design-34

I honestly just don’t understand bikinis. Don’t get me wrong, some bikinis are okay, and are totally cute and cover, but most are not, and to be honest, it’s disgusting. I love how that’s basically the only thing you can find in store too, as if it’s expected of us as women to wear 0 clothing to the pool. Oh no, it’s okay, I wasn’t planning on feeling comfortable today, thank you!

Also, someone please explain the difference between underwear/bras and string bikinis… oh you can’t? Me neither. Lol.

I just can’t wrap my mind around it. As Christian women, we should do everything we can to protect the eyes of our brothers in Christ. I’ve come to the realization that I never want to be a stumbling block in someone’ life, and that you never know what someone is going through or what they may be struggling with, so that’s why I cover up!

Also, we are beautiful, handmade treasures by the Creator of the Universe, not little toys for objectification, so maybe don’t dress like one? Lol. I don’t know man, that’s just how I see it. Agree, disagree, but I hope I can open your eyes to idea that you don’t have to show every inch of your body to be beautiful, “trendy,” or to “fit in!”

I am doing just fine in my one piece, because not only is it absolutely adorable (thank you Janela Bay), but I don’t find my self-confidence in the eyes of humanity, but rather in knowing that I am fearfully and wonderfully made by our Great Lord, and to be honest, it’s not that fun “fitting in!”

DSC01182DSC01060DSC01223DSC01039DSC01130 2

So enough chat about why I wear one pieces, and onto why this is the best suit.

For one, it’s stunning. Like are you kidding me? It doesn’t get cuter than this. Literally the suit of my dreams!

It fits AMAZINGLY! I am wearing a small, even though I am typically an XS. I went up a size so I’d have more booty coverage! You can tie the ties in the back tighter to make the top fit better, which is why this suit works for me!

My bottom half has a little more to it than my top does (lol) which is why this suit is perfect for me with the adjustable ties in the back!

The color of the suit is a bit more of a traditional blue (think cobalt), but with my editing the suit looks more teal!

I am obsessed with the floral pattern! So so pretty!

I also love the neckline! It’s not a super deep v down to your belly button (shucks, I was hoping it would be!), and it’s not a weird there’s-actually-no-fabric-on-the-sides-so-I-can’t-do-anything-in-this-suit kind of suit, Lol. It’s literally perfect!

The fabric is so nice and super high quality! It’s amazing!!

They have so many beautiful options, and some really cute mix and match pieces too! They’re seriously everything I’ve ever wanted or needed in a suit. I think you’ll love them too!!

So I have exciting news… WE’RE DOING A GIVEAWAY!!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Today’s post is in collaboration with Daisy Shoppe! Daisy Shoppe is located in California with multiple locations, and they actually have been around for quite some time! They celebrated their 50th anniversary in June of 2016! How cool is that?

They pride themselves in providing “cute and happy clothes,” and gifts for the everyday girl! Not only do they carry clothing and accessories, but they also carry home goods and little trinkets. So fun!

Not only that, but they also carry faith-based journals, devotionals, and adorable little Bibles.

Basically, they’re a one-stop-shop and every girl’s dream!

This Palm Printed jumpsuit is so fun & perfect for summer! It’s also available in black.

It’s one of those unique jumpsuits, with the leg slits, so it’s basically like you’re wearing a romper!! That style is perfect for super hot, summer days! And the fabric of this jumpsuit is super lightweight and very breathable!

I’m wearing a size XS, and I’m 5’1 for reference. I paired this beauty with some heels, as it was a little long on your girl, but hey, what isn’t?!

My tassel earrings and belt are both from Target, and were super on sale and are super old. Sorry girl!

So like I mentioned earlier, they also carry little knickknacks, home goods, and faith-based books and journals.

This little Devotional Bible for Women is also from Daisy Shoppe, and it’s amazing, and also the cutest!

As many of you may know, I am a Christian, and as a Christ follower it is vital that we get into the word every single day so that we may grow on our walk with the Lord.

I know at times it is so tough to either find the time or just the motivation to do it. I also know that making it a part of your daily routine is challenging. Been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt.

Okay, I haven’t just “been there”… it’s a reoccurring theme sometimes in my life. We get so distracted by all of the hustle and bustle of this life, making plans, working hard, going, going, going, and sometimes we leave the Lord right out of it all.

It’s ironic though because without Him, we’d be nothing, have nothing, and could do nothing. But we’re humans, and we make mistakes (boy, do we make mistakes), but the grace of our Lord is sufficient and ever-present, and all He wants from us is to get back up, keep trying, and to keep pursuing Him.

This devotional book has helped me so much! There’s just something about holding a tangible book, rather than just scrolling through a Bible app. I have more motivation to pick up a book than to just open up another app. I feel more connected and like what I’m doing is important, because now it’s separate from all the other things I already do on my phone. Do you get what I’m saying?

It’s also a beautiful book just to look at, so sometimes it catches my eye, and I’m like, “Hey!” so I sit back down with it and go through it, if I maybe forgot to that morning, because again, “life happens,” even though life can’t happen without Him.. but you get the point. Lol.

This Devotional for Women is split up into daily readings, each reading coincides with the date! Each day is filled with verses plus a small application paragraph at the end! I love it!

Hi girlfriend!

A few weekends ago, I headed to the cutest outdoor, springy event with my mom, sister, and best friend, and it was so fun! We’re talking shopping, food trucks, and the cutest flower truck! I actually did a photoshoot last year for the flower truck company if you wanna check it out too!

It was a gorgeous spring day filled with laughter and fun, and don’t forget the ice cream! 😉

I wore the cutest little blouse from Thriver, which is an adorable women’s clothing store based out of Portland, OR.

I was so excited to collaborate with them, their stores is incredible! You have to check out their Spring Collection!

This blouse is the actual cutest!

If you’ve learned one thing from me by now it’s that I love gingham!! It’s my favorite! And this top is totally gingham goals.

And of course I love floral print, I mean is it even spring if you don’t wear floral print???

The details of this blouse are just too cute! Like are you seeing the sleeve ruffles? SO CUTE! I love how feminine and fun it is! I’m kind of getting little farm girl vibes, but like in all the right ways! Lol.

You could pair it with black denim, white pants, shorts, even a skirt! The possibilities are endless! It’s such a great blouse to have in your closet for spring & summer!

You can purchase it HERE!

I paired my blouse with some super fun denim & my favorite espadrilles!

Hello, Sunshine!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 preset

Hey girl!

Today I am 4 days into my wisdom teeth removal recovery, and lemme tell you, mashed potatoes aren’t nearly as fun as they once were.

It’s fine, I’ll be fine. They actually said my surgery went perfectly, that I had no complications, and I haven’t felt nauseous or anything whatsoever! I just really miss straws, that’s all. Lol.

But I don’t wanna complain, things could be so much worse, and I really am doing okay! I’ve been able to get a lot of work done, which is nice! I just look ridiculous while doing it… think frozen peas strapped to my face + unwashed hair + the same hoodie I wear everyday. It’s fashion.

So… anyways..

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it is finally starting to get warm, and STAY WARM here in Indy. Praise Jesus!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 preset

It’s about dang time. Helloooo, sunshiiiiine!!!!

Speaking of sunshine, you’ve probably heard me talk about my love for yellow these days. I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I am in LOVE with wearing fun colors and fun patterns!

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

And this blouse has become a FAVORITE of mine, and it has finally been RESTOCKED!!

I featured it in my last haul video, and everyone loved it, but it was out of stock! But it is here, girl!! GO grab it! And it’s also available in black!

I love the retro style of this blouse!

I. Am. All. About. Fun. Pants.

Jeans are a thing of the past, girlfriend! I’m just kidding lol. But if I can wear trousers, culottes, jumpsuits, flowy shorts, flowy pants, over jeans, then I will.

I really just don’t love the look of skinny jeans on my body anymore either, just because I’m so little! I do like them if the hem hits my leg a little higher than my ankle bone. If it hits me any further down, it makes my legs seem shorter than they are, because there’s no separation between my leg and foot, and I just look goofy. haha.

My pants collection is ever-growing, and when I laid my eyes on these puppies by Uniqlo I knew I needed to add them to the party.

I don’t know about you, but 80 degree weather + skin-tight jeans, just isn’t my idea of a good time. So I am here for the trouser trend, girl.

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

I really am so happy with this purchase. These linen pants from Uniqlo are so comfortable, so easy to throw on and go, and just so nice to have in your closet to pair with almost any look!

And they’re available in so many different colors, even stripes! Shop them HERE!

They’re not too dressy, nor too casual, so you can really take them any route and make them work!

I got the size XS, but I wish I would’ve gotten the size XXS. (5’1′, waist – 24, hips – 34) The ones I got aren’t huge, but I would have liked them to be a little smaller! But something that’s super nice about them is that they have an adjustable drawstring on the inside so you can tighten them, and they have belt loops!!

Last but not least, I paired this look with my go-to platform white tennis shoes & a hair scarf!

Summer in Style

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetIMG_0728_00000

Happy Summer, Friends!

I hope your first few days of Summer have been filled with endless days by the pool, a thousand popsicles, and the smell of sunscreen. One of my favorite smells in the world is sunscreen, there I said it.

Speaking of popsicles, sunscreen, and the pool, what are your vacation plans for the summer? Going anywhere fun?!

I’m currently in the area of Muskegon, MI, visiting my boyfriend’s family! Every year his family comes to a place called Maranatha up in Michigan, right along Lake Michigan.

In a few short days I’ll be on my way to Missouri, and next month, I’ll be in one of my favorite places on earth: Haiti! For those of you who don’t know me personally, my father is a missionary to Haiti, and has been my whole life. I’ve spent most of my life watching him leave for trips, and ever since I was around the middle school age, I’ve been going every summer.

Summertime is one of my favorite times of the year, right next to Autumn, and Christmas time… lol Okay, I can’t pick a favorite. I love every season for different reasons.

I love that summer brings the warm sunshine, the cute, summery clothes, and the ability to go on trips/vacations.

Speaking of cute, summery clothes, I am loving this dress!!!

Also, look at these pictures! My nugget Camden (CamdenJProductions) and his brother (@GrahamJPhoto) took these photos for me along Lake Michigan!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 preset

You’ll never believe how much this dress was.

It was only like $14 from the Target sale rack. If you didn’t know, I get the majority of my clothes from the Target sale rack. lol Your girl doesn’t like to spend an arm and a leg on clothes.

The details of this dress are SO pretty, and I think it was the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe. And for $14, it absolutely was.

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetIMG_0815

Flowy material, crocheted detailing, ruffles, & tassel ties; is this not the perfect summertime maxi? You should totally check your local Target’s sale rack, because this dress has been in the store for forever, and it finally hit the sale racks like last week.

Of course, I threw on a hat, because your girl lives on hats and hats alone. JK not the truth, but I sure do love them. This old thing is most likely from Target or Forever 21.

I hope you have a wonderful, fun summertime with family and friends, and most importantly, you do it in style. 😉

Hey there & welcome back!

This little number is the sweetest sundress for summer, and I’ve teamed up with Sweet Olive & Co. for this look!

I’m the kind of girl who wears dresses most days out of the week during summertime! I love how easy dresses are to wear! You might be afraid of being too dressy by wearing a dress just in everyday life, but that’s totally not the case!

There are SO many casual dress options or ways of making a dress look less dressy!

This Dusty Rose Colored Sundress from Sweet Olive & Co. is a perfect option, and it’s just too cute!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 preset

First of all, I love the color of this dress!!

The style of this dress is what they call a “sack dress!” AKA it kind of just hangs there, and that might be intimidating to some, but I love it. It’s so effortlessly cute, and it’s so beautiful in an understated kind of way.

All the details of this dress are definitely heart-eyes worthy!

Processed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 preset

The crinkly fabric is so laid-back and cute! Plus, it’s super airy, making it the perfect dress for summertime!

I LOVE the cinched hemline at the top, and the eyelet detailing at the bottom is just too sweet! PLUS, this dress has adjustable straps!! HALLELUJAH!! Adjustable straps are my best friend!!

I’ve paired this beauty with some super adorable sandals I just got from JustFab, my go-to site for shoes!

If you haven’t checked out Sweet Olive & Co. yet, you better! They have 2 locations, 1 in Greenwood, and 1 in Franklin, IN.

L’Occitane En Provence Shea Butter Hand Cream X Sephora | Review

Hi beautiful and welcome back!

Today I’m sharing a brand new find, that I’m totally in love with.

Processed with VSCO with m5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 preset

Now, I know it’s not new, I’m just a little behind that’s all. But better late than never, am I right?

I recently was given the opportunity to collaborate with Sephora on an influencer campaign and try out their L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. Purchase the hand cream HERE!)

Of course, that had my name written all over it.

I instantly fell in love with this cream!!

It’s actually made up of 20% Organic Shea Butter; talk about moisture! Because of this it’s super moisturizing, it helps protects your skin, and it deeply and quickly penetrates your skin to nourish it as well.

This formula also consists of honey, almond extracts and coconut oil; a.k.a it doesn’t get much better than this for your dry, damaged hands!

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with a4 presetProcessed with VSCO with m5 preset

I actually suffer from dry skin ALL year round!

Even my hair is dry. Literally, no part of me produces oils. I can go like 2 weeks without washing my hair, but that’s a different story, for a different day.

But because my body is so dry, my hands are too! They’re actually insanely dry.

As a makeup artist, I am constantly washing my hands and washing my brushes, and on top of that, it’s now summer, so I’m in and out of the pool! With all this exposure to water, my hands are drying out like crazy! I needed something that would not just coat my hands, but actually get to the root of the problem and heal and nourish them.

The L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream has been just that for my hands! Plus, I can’t get over the smell. It smells SO fresh and clean, I’m actually trying to find a way to just bathe in the hand cream. If I figure out a way, I’ll let you know…

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

Also, get this! It’s not heavy on the hands whatsoever and it doesn’t leave them feeling oily! It absorbs super quickly, leaving you with moisturized hands, that smell amazing too! I take it everywhere I go, I actually can’t live without it now. It’s incredible how much it’s changed my hands.

Fun fact, this hand cream is actually sold every 2 seconds around the globe, isn’t that incredible? It’s actually that good!! You NEED it in your life!!

If you do a lot of work with your hands, suffer from crackly, dry hands, or just love yourself a good quality hand cream, this one is for YOU!

You can purchase this “life-changing” hand cream at Sephora, AND it’s available in 2 different sizes: the “standard” size 5.2 oz for $28, or the “travel” size 1 oz for $12!

So what are you waiting for? Go buy it now, your hands will thank you later!
